In the cluster situations that I am familiar with, the host names of your actual cluster servers are independent of the virtual hostname you create for the cluster.

So if you have Server A and Server B that are nodes of a cluster that, for example, hosts a virtual server called StorageVol, then when people access \\storagevol.litwareinc.com, they’re actually going through whatever the active server node is at the time.

I’m not sure I am fully understanding your question. Are you saying that you had Server A’s hostname as part of the cluster itself?
