I'm looking for information on what the biggest UDP packet I can send to another computer is without fragmentation. I know the size is known as the MTU and several routers and modems will have different MTUs between computers. I also know that TCP implementation in Microsoft Windows finds the maximum MTU in a path.
After doing some searching, I found out that my maximum MTU (from my computer to the server) was 57,712 bytes. But since my computer is on a LAN, shouldn't it be around 1,500 bytes?
