 What’s a good backup/bare-metal restore/virtualization enterprise software?
I'd like to (hopefully) find a single software solution that does: - traditional backup/restore to a central server of other systems on the LAN - allows you to image for bare-metal restores - allows you to image to virtualizable machines Tried out Symantec's System Recovery and had a horrible experience with the product and their support. I am looking for alternatives that fit the above criteria and are backed by an effective support team.I'm not looking for an online service at this time.

Software/Hardware used:
Symantec

Tivoli Storage Manager with Fastback will give you what you are looking for. TSM will give the backuprestore of your systems while the fastback portion will give the bare metal part you are after. Note that TSM does not use the outdated Grandfatherfatherson method of backup but uses an incremental forever model
