They will form the basis for rating and ranking any CRM system you are considering.

For example, in my experience with CRM systems over the past 10 years most small businesses really want a Sales Force Automation (SFA) system. Similarly, they typically need a system that is more “customer facing” than back end customer management. Finally, work out your ROI on each potential CRM system.
