You already have a perfectly good working gigabit switch. The options on the table are to acquire an addtional 24 port gigabit switch and connect them using an expansion or uplink port, or acquire a new 48 port gigabit switch; however, this option does not make good use of the investment already made. Most switches are self managed by the way, except for layer-3 switches which require additional configuration to support some routing features.
