Have you ever gone in to revamp your system and discovered that upgrades were impossible due to obsolete or incompatible software? What did you do to alleviate the problem? Do you now have safeguards in place to prevent this?

Wow, this is a tough one Chris. There are so many moving parts and interdependencies that it can be impossible to get rid of the old stuff. The problem is that this outdated software creates security risks that you may not be able to afford to take on. I don’t envy people in this situation. This is why it’s so important to get all the right people involved in IT projects and security decisions. Go it alone and you’re setting yourself up for failure.
