Bridge mode means that the modem acts as *just* a modem, no routing, no other functions. That allows the modem to be used in conjunction with a router without the problems that having two routers would create.

Note that once you turn on bridge mode, it can be difficult to turn if off. Since the modem is *just* a modem, it will no longer have a management page.
