I did a chat in a website with a person. Just after few days after, my computer started showing error certificates. (We had Kaspersky internet security set up in it). After that, my CMOS battery failed. I couldn't use Mozilla Firefox and a lots more has changed. Now what should I do to stop this and ,in particular, who is doing this?

What software program were you using for the chat session? Was it something you downloaded? It may have been a Trojan or malware program.

What browser are you using, chrome, IE or Firefox? Did this website have you download anything or click an "I Accept" button before you could use their chat service? If so that may be how you got infected. This is a main cause of Trojans and malware.  To clean your system try running Malwarebytes. It's free and does a good job. Download it from a reputable site like Download.com. I have seen other links to the program for other sites but they will also load toolbars and other things if you are not careful. Lastly do a Google on the website. If it's a problem site you may find articles on how to fix the problems it causes.

i think if you want to be safe, just format the computer and replace the cmos battery.

Why did u chat with a person, who could be harmful/ did a damage task for ur pc ! Although u installed Kaspersky though ur pc is damaged. It is better to install and configure anti virus with an expert to protect ur computer. For that time, take necessary backups for ur files/ folders and do repair/reinstall OS again. U can scan ur pc with a good anti virus like MWAV and if it will overcome ur issue, then fine.
