There may be numerous junk files who kill the performance and eating  up the registry.
protect your PC with  running some  tasks like
1)registry cleaner.
2)antivirus  and 3)run defrag in your pc

Is this something new? You could check your Power options, to make sure it is not set to 'sleep' or shutdown after a set period of time.

It could be overheating. I would check the fan.

It could also be because of a defective power supply unit.

It could also be due to hardware and or drivers conflicts, or  corrupted OS files.

It can be a number of things.  With that few information it is hard to tell.

Is this a desktop or laptop? If it's a laptop and you are using it on a soft surface like a couch or bed it may be overheating. You are probably blocking the vents. If it's a desktop, is this something new. Has any new software been loaded that may be questionable? Other that that, follow the suggestion already mentioned.
