Hello There, This is Venkatesh Nayak, Currently working as software test engineer(IT) and having 4 yrs of experience in the same field. Now I am feeling to upgrade my career path with a field which can help me to make my future strong in terms of 1. Position. 2. Economic. Can any one guide me with how and when a test engineer can upgrade his ccareer. Can I opt for 1. Auditing field, Any 2. Public sector field. Awaiting for your valuable response. Venkatesh Nayak.

It depends if you want to stay in the same area or not. Improving skills such as communication, working with people and experience in different industries can help. If you want to stay in testing, perhaps a testing manager could be the way to go? The pay is usually more and you get to stay in your testing area. If not, you could move into development or support or whatever takes your fancy. Good luck!
