What is the future of Cloud Computing? How is it going to affect IT Industry? Is it a boon or a bane?

Unfortunately for this one, the answer is up in the clouds.

To me, cloud computing is a privacy issue. I can’t help but think that as soon as everything gets up into the cloud, it’s going to be indexed and searched by the government, or various other organizations for that matter. It’s a principle of personal property and security that just seems out of wack. That, of course, is a personal theory.

As with any other computing system, there are advantages and disadvantages. Here are a few:

Pros:

Economic (pay for what you need, not more)
Support Response (everything is in a “single” source, it can be accessed quickly)
Consolidation of Information (its all up in the cloud)
No Commitment (pay for needed service)

Cons:

Security (it’s in the cloud)
Reliability (what if the cloud goes out)
Compliance
Logging
Platform Specific
Streamlining (users use thousands of programs…but who really wants to stick to a few?)

CLOUD is out…for now at least.

I agree with views given above to add my comments

I have been doing software development and hosting using cloud last 2 yrs , I have used amazon aws for all my years and now iam also investigating on MOSSO. i clearly feel that future is in the clouds. it offers lots of advantages , colloboration and location independence. of course there is security risks which will be lot more less in amazon . Lately , i stumbled upon a provider called <a href=”http://8kmiles.com” title=”http://8kmiles. ” target=”_blank”>8kmiles.com</a> , they offer on demand software , hardware and tools from amazon cloud. They have abstracted amazon aws complexities and made the environment micu more usable. Please check whether it is usefull for you. I feel in future if this website kicks up , lots of development is going to happen over cloud. if your are specific about your software development stack like ROR visit heroku.

I think the adoption of cloud computing will be slow because of some of the "cons" mentioned in the above answer, mainly privacy and reliability. is it a boon or a bane ? as usual, it could be both, a boon or a bane, depending on what you do, how you do it, and who you choose to work with.

Cloud is one of the many global solutions in this world that is going to make us even more needless dependable.sorry for my poor englisch
