What is the best way to recover an Exchange 2003 mailbox after migration to Exchange 2007 is complete. Completed migration to Exchange 2007 in mid-June 2008. Upper management now wants to see the contents of a users inbox at the end March 2008. I have the Exchange 2003 database on tape from the end of March. We do not do "brick level" backups, only database backups. We were using Arcserve 11.5 at the time and are now using ArcServe 12 for backups. If it matters, the old Exchange 2003 server no longer exists in the same state it was at the time of migration. For testing of other items AD and DNS were added after the migration completed.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Hi,

You might have to rebuild the old 2003 server add to 2007 domain, restore the backupt to the 2003 server and then move the mailbox in question to exchange 2003 server.

Regards
Andrew
