What is a good OpenSource program for CRM?
We've been using Maximizer for years. Our company has sfound that we do not use all of the features of it. We are seeking a change to a less cumbersome CRM program. There are two people to use the program for Customer lists, contacts, e-mail, notes, calendar, word processing. Any thoughts to share? THANKS!

Currently using Maximizer Enterprise

You could try <a href="http://www.opencrx.org/">OpenCRX</a> or <a href="http://civicrm.org/">CiviCRM</a>

I have no idea what your environment is like, so I’ll just suggest SugarCRM. It’s a pretty decent open source CRM that can be downloaded from the SourceForge project or from a more focused SugarForge site. Google for [sugar crm] for as many links as you’ll ever need.

Attention Andrea F: Many thanks for the useful web page describing ‘the top open-source solutions’! My thinking is that they are all a bit too sophisticated for us!! Do you, or does anyone, have a suggestion for a program that will give us: Company, Contacts, Address, e-mail, faxing, calendar and faxing capabilities with an area to store documents (e-mail and fax exchanges) and notes? Simplicity rules!! THANKS!

Hmmmm….except for the faxing, it sounds like Outlook could do the majority of what you are wanting. Sorry the link wasn’t more helpful – if the specific programs others mentioned give you a basic solution to your needs, I would appreciate learning which you chose – and why. Thanks :-)
