Could any one please tell me what type of fields are displayed while using SE16 but not in a report program and the reason for this?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

SE16 will show all fields on a table where it can.
Some fields may not display automatically, as there is a limitation on bytes displayed. You can select the missing fields manually, and also turn fields off manually, thus customising the view. It will return to the default on next session.
A report will only pick up the fields designated by the ABAPer, who probably wrote to a specification for a specific purpose.

Another reason fore fields shown in SE16 but not in a report may be that text-table are automatically shown in SE16. Theese tables are linked to the main table using a specific key. If the main table has a text table can be checked in SE11 in the menu (GOTO -> TEXT TABLE )

Another somewhat related issue will be that if there is a mask applied to the field, it will be applied in SE16, but not when you actually retrieve the data from ABAP.
