What domain name do you use when you configure a Windows DNS server. I've always set them up with something like this: comapanyname.local
But I was reading some Microsoft documentation, and it said you need to use a sub-domain of a registered domain name. For instance, if you have the domain name companyname.com registered, when you configure DNS, you should use office.companyname.com as the domain name, not companyname.local or companyname.com
