Is there something I can use to replace Session Shadowing, which was removed from Server 2012 Remote Desktop Session hosts?  I tried to solve this by enabling remote assistance for all Remote Desktop Session Hosts via Group Policy. At first it seemed to work, but the "expert" could not support mouse or keyboard control when remote assistance has been initiated from a Remote Desktop session. The mouse & keyboard didn’t work after the assisted user has acknowledged the request for control.

What am I missing?

Session shadowing returned in Windows Server 2012 R2 RDS. Read more in this review of Server 2012 R2 updates on SearchVirtualDesktop.
