ID card scanner software/hardware
Hi friends ,hope you all are fine and doing well.I am working as a security guard for my company, recently our company has started expanding its ware house and workshop and it hired three companies to complete the project.As a part of my duty is to check identification and work passes issued by our company of the labors and keeping records of there entry and exit time.
In early days of this project i use to deal with hundred labors only, but now after 8 months since the project has begun , am dealing with almost 450 labors daily .Recently i was thinking that if there is any way to ease down with this situation , instead of writing down names of labors ,entry time and exit, etc.
Is there any user friendly software for such problems, is it possible to use barcode scanners or reader to read photos of labors from there ID cards and there data entered automatically with all there details necessary like entry and exit time, mean while also showing there documents or Gate passes , either valid or not.Hope you understand what i mean, and sorry if you feel that am not conveying in correct way.But friends, this is all what is in my mind and i know that your intelligent visions have figured out about what am asking.

Yes, this could be done with scanners.
Before you rush out to do anything, you need to look at you complete requirements.
Do only need one place to scan for enter/exit?
Do you need it at various doors?
Is this a long term or short term project.
How much are you wiling to spend on hardware abd software?
Can you justify the ROI?

Also consider, do you have ares that require higher security? Multi level access programs are available. I use a simple program called passpoint that logs all activity throughout the building
Well charlie , there is only one main Gate where labors used to enter and exit and this is the only place where i use to arrange everything.For the project am recently told that its going to take another 18 months and i have no problem with the expense on such idea because company is going to support it.
Spadasoe my idea is very simple and i explained it , all i need is a software compatible with interface like scanners , bare code readers to ease down writing names of 450 and so labors daily , keeping data base of labors , pop up information while scanning there ID cards and etc.Because am not an IT person that’s why i cant figure it out that what would be the proper system for this and how. I don’t know you can call it advance human resources programs.

Use a card reader and a software to configure access cards and pass it to the 450 people working for your company. When they come in or even go out then they have to swipe so that they are being registered.
this software will be able to help track in and outs and can even generate reports
