I'm liking what I have now. Why should I upgrade? According to MS, I would be able to view docx files.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

If you need or could take advantage of some of the new features or improvements of the 2007 version, then you should consider upgrading, otherwise, you could continue using your current version.

Here’s some information of the new features or improvements in 2007:

And here is a document explaining how to install the compatibility pack, which will allow you to open Office 2007 documents (such as docx files) in previous versions of Office.

Changing from Office 2003 to 2007 is a really big change. I was working exclusively on 2003 and the switch to 2007 was quite a shock. I think upgrading is a good plan, however, know the learning curve is much steeper with 2007. Be prepared to train users.... Hope this helps! -Schmidtw

Another thought: The benefit is there is a lot of nice functionality and features available. The software suite is very nice, and very enterprise ready. Hope this helps! -Schmidtw

I agree with Schmitdw, definitely plan for training if you are going to upgrade! Makes learning the changes much easier!
