During the Ingram Micro Cloud Summit in Phoenix this week, MSPexcellence founder Todd Hussey said companies should have three goals when it comes to cloud services:
  1. Provide value to customers
  2. Attain long-term stickiness
  3. Gain a strong revenue steam
Do you agree with his goals? If not, what would be your goals when it comes to cloud services?

How about: 1) Get our cloud service providers to drop the SSAE-16-in-the-face nonsense and demonstrate how secure their systems really are through meaningful *technical* security assessments. 2) Determine and document the additional security controls we have in place to keep our business running and information secure when the you know what hits the fan. 3) Convince our lawyers and management that IT and security staff need to be involved in the decision-making processes surrounding contracts and SLAs.
