We're interested in hosting a ton of videos in the cloud to cut down on transfer costs and the need to buy a bunch of storage boxes. What's the transfer speed like across Amazon instances? About how long would it take for a proper CDN to pull a large video file? Have you run into any hidden or unexpected costs when storing a bunch (think 100,000+) large files (15-100MB)?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

With Amazon keep in mind that you pay for bandwidth and IO to the storage. If the CDN gets 99% of the file and the connection is dropped, and they try again, and this happens 50 times, then you get charged to transfer the file 50 times.
