That is a tricky one. This is going to depend in large part on the type of cabinet you use. Some companies have elected to use open racks, some use cabinets. The issue with cabinets is getting the correct amount of wire management in the cabinet. I realize that takes away from RU's available for equipment, but in the end, you have to manage the cabling so that it doesn't end up over the air intake and it can be traced. Some companies have a cabling cabinet next to the high density cabinet and patch between the two. Still again, some elect to put patch panels in the back and feed the cables through to the front of the cabinet.

Most people run back to a central patching area. You can take the cords and patch them to the back of a patch panel and plug the other end with an RJ45 straight into a switch. However the most manageable seems to be to have patch panels in a cabinet or right next to it that correspond to panels in a central patching zone. This allows for an "any to all" configuration and allows you to use all ports that you purchase as opposed to dedicating a blade to a cabinet and perhaps not using them all.

You will want to make sure that you dress half the cables to the left and half to the right. Velcro ties will help hold them in. With a central patching area, they will stay dressed in as all patching changes are made in the central area keeping the cabinets dressed in and tidy.
