In the current version of Hyper-V, using fixed VHDs can increase performance of the VM, especially related to disk. In Hyper-V R2, fixed and dynamic disks are pretty close in performance.

Fixed VHDs and have the VMs hosted on dedicated partition based on RAID 0+1.
