I am using filezilla to edit and update a website. Is it safe to transfer files to a live website. Thank you very much.

    It depends on how critical it is and whether or not you've got a good backup in the event something goes awry. I do it all the time to my website but that doesn't mean it's a good fit for you. My best advice is to take some common sense precautions.

    I have to ask the same question, safe in what regard?  I use Filezilla all the time for doing website maintenance.  I keep a current copy of the entire website on my local machine (server).  That is where I do all the maintenance to the website, to test whatever changes that I have made or am making to make sure that I have not done something stupid.  I then use filezilla to transfer the completed file to the live server.
