At my last job, we used Citrix Metaframe to virtualize apps and desktops - using the ica protocol.  Is this the same for Hyper-V/Microsoft? This question is from the Microsoft Virtualization Chat held on August 27th.

No. With Citrix/TS, what is being done is that you have a single installation of Windows and you virtualize the sessions, giving each user their own session view of the the single installation. Hyper-V actually creates seperate, virtual machines with a copy of Windows inside each machine. VM is a complete system, independent of the other VMs.
