 Ways to scan HDD for errors?
chkdsk c:/f/r consistently failed to check my HDD, so the interface from Properties->Tools-> Check Now Is there another way to scan HDD for errors, bad blocks and sectors?

You may want to check in the BIOS. At times there are tools in there to run hard drive diagnostics. You can also try attaching the drive that is sick to a host machine and running chkdsk that way.

well you can used a third party software to check your hard drive from errors, and you might also want to check your settings in BIOS, maybe incorrect parameters are entered on the BIOS like the no# of cyclinders, mode settings and etc.
