VS COBOL and ADABAS/Natural Mainframe Recent Prospects
COBOL, 390, ADABAS
Dear Rick:
I've been out of the field (driving a truck) since March of 2005. I'm thinking that due to retirements and natural attrition, combined with the fact (please confirm) that companies are not retiring their mainframe systems like everyone thought, what are job prospects for a 48 year old COBOL or ADABAS Natural Programmer (4-6 years exp)?

Am I correct in the above assessment on mainframe retirements?
