Deploying Windows VPN servers is pretty quick and easy. Anything can connect as long as they support PPTP. IPSec isn’t that hard to setup either. It just takes a certificate.

You can also use Cisco VPN pretty easily, but the client support is more limited as the client has to have the Cisco VPN software available.

I’m sure the *nix crowd has a few options available as well.

    Another solution could be to use a point-to-point VPN set-up, like from one networks router to another. This would allow the LANs to communicate amoungst themselves. There are several styles of devices that can do IPSEC / PPTP / L2TP VPNs. Cisco has the ASA line that is great, or, for the budget-conscious, the Cisco Small Businees line has several VPN routers (look for "RV" in the model number - wRVs4400n, RV082, RV120w are just a few) Most "VPN concentrators" support multiple tunnels, so linking 3-5 sites together is very easy, and once the tunnels are established, VPN'ing across them is relatively painless
