My Issue is with a VPN Connection. I have an SQL Data Base set up on a Windows XP Pro machine. We are using a Clear Motorola WFIMAX Modem and an AirPort Extreme Router. I have port 1723 Forwarded and Out going and Incoming Connections created on both Server and Client.
The Server has a version of Logmein Pro2 and Hollander Powerlink Server.
When I run the Windows Support CMD pptpclnt.exe everything is working fine. The 1723 Port is open and responding, the Server is responding to GRE protocol as well.
Under certain conditions I have been able to make the connection to the Server twice. But was unable to make a connection to the SQL.
Any thoughts would be helpful.
Software/Hardware used:
Dual Core machines, with Windows XP Pro on both sides. Hollander Power Link

Sorry yes I can ping the IP Address as well, and I have IP Address set up on the TCP/IP networking.
When I did get it to Connect the Server was locked the LOGMEIN was frozen and the Data Base service shut it self off.
Yes to both connection issues to allow incoming calls to access local LAN, and ip address set up that is why I am so confused, this is the 3rd time of I done this and the first time I have had all these problems. the difference is the Logmein on this one.
Check your event logs for error messages.
check them on both machines.
Orangehat:
I was able to read the client side but the server is being blocked from allowing me to the log viewer, I did find a Security featyre set for Dymanic and unchecked it and I can now get the VPN connection without and trouble. my problem know is trying to set up the client for the Hollander Power link it is having troble finding the Data Base, when i point to it it is givening me an unable to validae error.
I’m not much help with Hollander Power link as I’ve never used it. I’m glad you got the VPN working. Congrats….
