VPN Connectivity Issue with SQL Database
My Issue is with a VPN Connection. I have an SQL Data Base set up on a Windows XP Pro machine. We are using a Clear Motorola WFIMAX Modem and an AirPort Extreme Router. I have port 1723 Forwarded and Out going and Incoming Connections created on both Server and Client.
The Server has a version of Logmein Pro2 and Hollander Powerlink Server.
When I run the Windows Support CMD pptpclnt.exe everything is working fine. The 1723 Port is open and responding, the Server is responding to GRE protocol as well.
Under certain conditions I have been able to make the connection to the Server twice. But was unable to make a connection to the SQL.
Any thoughts would be helpful.

Software/Hardware used:
Dual Core machines, with Windows XP Pro on both sides. Hollander Power Link

Answer Wiki:
Can you ping it? I'd check to see if you are actually getting a valid IP number. Allowing DHCP to do it for you sometimes doesn't work real well and you need to assign a range of IP address manually. Also, under 'incoming connections', properties, internet protocol (tcp/ip) properties do you have the checkbox by the 'Allow callers to access my local area network'?

Sorry yes I can ping the IP Address as well, and I have IP Address set up on the TCP/IP networking.
When I did get it to Connect the Server was locked the LOGMEIN was frozen and the Data Base service shut it self off.

Yes to both connection issues to allow incoming calls to access local LAN, and ip address set up that is why I am so confused, this is the 3rd time of I done this and the first time I have had all these problems. the difference is the Logmein on this one.

I’m not much help with Hollander Power link as I’ve never used it. I’m glad you got the VPN working. Congrats….
