I would like to know about the VPN connectivity your using. . Have you ownded any IP from ISP? if so, you would be using Static Ip to connect to VPN. In this case if you use NAT behind the router then it could be a problem which blocks you to connect to VPN.. Check your VPN configuration and type of VPn connectivity your using.

The application gives no ports information. I tried DMZ, didn’t work either. No idea what else to do.

You might look at D-Links site and see if there is a firmware update for your router and patch it up and see if that fixes it.
