VMWare Server Management Interface Question
Can someone help me understand Other Memory Usage in VMware Server Management Interface as ours is very high and we can’t work out why. We are running VMware Server on top of Windows Server 2003 X64 on an HP DL140 G3 with dual quad Xeon and 6GB Memory. VMware Management Interface is showing 4.9GB used, while the host OS Task Manager is showing less than 1.2GB. Who has the other 3.7GB and how do I get it back? Your help would be appreciated Thanks, Keith

Answer Wiki:
Hi, I think 4.9 Gb is the memory u allocated to the Guest mechines in VMware. But, actual memory usage depends on the applications running on all the Guest mechines in VMware ( i.e showing less than 1.2 Gb in host OS Task Manager ). U can also check this actual memory usage by opening Task Manager in Guest mechines. Pls go through the Memory Usage on VMware Workstations . I hope this will work for u. If you have more concerns pls let us know. Thanks & Regards, Vlvpk
