I have setup vmware server 2.0 for Fedora 9 64 bit and also installed vmware-mui for the management interface. I have specified "root" as the login for the web access. I can bring up the UI, but when entered the user "root" and passowrd for "root", I am getting the below error: "The server was unable to process your log in request. Please check with your server administrator." Please help. I have struggled with this for a long time. Thanks a bunch for your help in advance. -daisy

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Most likely you need to login using the root or administrator account of the management interface server and not the vmware server.

Create new administrator Account and try it. VMware server (1.0, 2.0)Web console always take ccredentials for login, Local Administrator User only. check and confirm VMware VSS writer service and VMWare Agent service running. otherwise manually run that services and check it. it will surely work
