 VMware ESXi install error on Dell PowerEdge 1950
Dell PowerEdge, Dell Poweredge 1950, RAID 1, VMware, VMware ESXi 3.5, VMware ESXi error messages, VMware ESXi Installation, VMware on Dell PowerEdge
trying to install ESXi on a Poweredge 1950, with a 2 drive RAID 1, PERC 5i controller configuration, but when the ESXi image boots I get the following error: 'Unable to find a supported device to write the ESX Server 3i 3.5.0 image to' Can anyone help User submitted question

Answer Wiki:
ESXi doesn't support as wide a range of hardware as ESX and other OSs. You probably need a different RAID controller that ESXi supports. I'm sure that VMware has a supported hardware list on their site.
