Trying to create a virtual Machine on Windows XP using VMware ESX 3.5 and getting the following error “Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer.”

You need to change the disk controller from the LSI to the BusLogic. Then when the installer starts press F6 to install a hard drive controller drive. Then mount the BusLogic driver that was included in the vmimages/floppies folder. Install the driver from that virtual floppy and you can then install Windows XP.
