I’d agree that there are many different VMware products, and it can be hard to keep them straight. I’d recommend checking out SearchVMware.com for more on all these products; you can also search for each specific product in the WhatIs.com definition database. Distinguishing among all these products might be a tall order for someone to do in an answer here.
