Personally I think VMware’s licensing for vSphere is a nightmare. The licensing used to be very easy, not it is much more like Microsoft’s then it needs to be.

And the whole Enterprise Plus is worthless (which is why I’m sure they were dropping Enterprise to make you buy Enterprise Plus). It’s very much not worth the extra money unless you really want to buy the really expensive Cisco vSwitch.
