 VM Ware ESX 3.0.2 How to find BIOS

I have ESX 3.0.2 installed and I would like to know what will be the BIOS release date that any vms built on this host will have.The restriction is I can not build any VM to test in my lab.So is there any way from ESX box that I can find out?

You should be able to see this by creating a new vm with a small drive and booting the box (without an OS) and it should tell you at the POST screen for the system. Our installation is 3.0.2 (build 61618, I believe) so You'll want to ensure your version is the same before you take this to the bank. Our installation says the BIOS is Pheonix BiOS 4.0 Release 6.0 ... VMWARE Version 245. Does this give you what you are looking for?
