 VLAN per switch limitation?
I have a Minolta server and copier which need to communicate across two switches - where these switches have a vlan per switch limitation. From what I can see in a Wireshark sample, the printer is trying to establish communications with the server using broadcast traffic. Is is possible for this set-up to work.

Software/Hardware used:
Cisco 2650 switches back to L3 distribution switches.

Answer Wiki:
Broadcast traffic will not cross VLANs. This is by design to keep traffic isolated to the subnet. I am surprised to hear that it is using broadcasts to communicate with the server. I would have expected unicast UDP or TCP traffic. You may have to make the same VLAN on both switches and then have another remote switch act as the routing host.
