 Visual Studio .NET 2003 problem
Visual Studio .NET 2003 takes about five minutes to start at the splash screen. Then, once inside, it works fine until I try and use any type of debugging feature. The Tools -> Options -> Debugging freezes the program as well. I've tried to uninstall completely and reinstall, but it's the same problem. Windows Event viewer says: The server {B20E899D-B079-479D-A4DC-10F758D9CD9A} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout. This shows up every time VS.NET freezes. (Machine XP (SP2) 512 mem. 60gb free space, pentium 4) It tried the followings; 1.uninstall .NET 2003(+Framework) then reinstall it.The problem remains. 2.stop and stat mdm service, nothing changed. 3.tried to register mdm with "C:Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedVS7Debug/mdm.exe" /regserver nothing changed. I don't want to format my pc and re-setup everthing. any suggestion or idea. Best regards.

Not sure this would resolve snything but my first port of call would be Start>Run dcomcnfg to bring up Component Services. Check the propertries of My Computer and make sure you have Access and Launch permissions under the 'Default COM Security' Tab. Good luck M

You are running under administrative rights not a limited user?

Machine Debug Manager in Services not set as ‘disabled’

You’ve gone into component services, my computer and made sure everything is registered… it will tell you if something is not registered and if you want to add the registry key.
