    What exactly do you want to calculate? You seem to be wanting to multiply a variable (Tax) by .0825 (8.25 %) if it is greater than, or equal to 1. Can't see it not working. Please expand the question.

    Whoops, I see where we both went wrong. You have missed an '=' out of the equation. if tax >= 1 then (tax * .0825) should be if tax >= 1 then tax = tax * .0825
