 Vista & AS/400 conflict

I am having problems trying to access the internet on a PC running vista that is also used s an AS/400 terminal. Supposedly the IT guy at work says it can't be done and we will have to wipe vista off and install XP instead. the AS/400 is tied in to the LAN port and I am trying to access internet through a USB Wi-Fi adapter. I am getting a connection through Wi-Fi but the web browser won't display any web pages, error "cannot display web page", yet it is sending and receiving packets. The only clue I have to the problem is something to do with DNS or possibly Norton Firewall. After disabling Norton I was able to send and receive packets but still cannot get the browser to display any webpages. Any help here?

It all depends on what type of Vista you are trying to use. This <a href="http://www-912.ibm.com/n_dir/nas4apar.nsf/51d11a683a56a5cc862564c000763b23/ad5ed8d2f4bc2f598625722f0041ec19?OpenDocument&Highlight=2,ii14239">Informational APAR</a> put out by IBM should help you out. ---------------- Like Bruce says, it depends on what version of Vista - also depends on what version of iSeries Access, assuming you are running that. But, I'm not really sure what your problem has to do with having software for an "AS/400 terminal". Your question relates to using a browser connecting to the internet through a wi-fi connection. Do you also have a LAN connection on this PC? Regards Mike ************************ Make sure that the Gateway setting on your WiFi connection is set correctly.
