We want to virtualize 4 computers we have their needs for a processor and memory. How can we match those specs up to a server that will host these virtual machines? Can you run virtual machines on computer without hyper v? What will the outcome be? Will it be slow? Is there a limitation? What does hyper-v do?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Provided that you can give the guest VM the name resources that it has currently in the physical world it should perform the same way that it does currently.

When creating a VM under Hyper-V you are limited to 4 vCPUs on the VM.

Typically the slowest resource on a virtual server is the hard drive. Be sure that when you select a physical server the hard drives are fast enough to support all the virtual machines which will be running on them.
