Q:
Virtualization Certification
I have attended the VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure V3.5 class and interested in obtaining a virtual certification. There is another certification offered by the 2. The Ultimate Bootcamp VMware VI3.5 Ultimate Bootcamp® and Official Certified Virtualization Expert™ (CVE™). This class is an accelerated course focused on the complete training and certification of VMware Infrastructure 3.

In VMware certification for the VCP they recommend taking the VMware Infrastructure 3: Install and Configure V3.5 and VMware Infrastructure 3: Deploy, Secure, and Analyze.
Is anyone aware of what certification is best - or does it not matter?
As far as the certification tests go are either one of these certifications more difficult to achieve than the other - and why?
Appreciate any information on this subject. - Thanks in advance.

The install and Configure course provides you the required entry to go for your VCP. This course plus my recommendation of having some true experience since not everything is covered in the course to pass this entry VMware certification. The Secure and Analyze is required if you want to have the higher certification. I would recommend you work your way up on and the way up, get your experience. Just realize I know vmware architects that don't have the entry level VCP (and don't need it). With VMware, experience is sought out more than the certification paper.
