Hello, I want to set up a virtual network for practicing Windows Server 2012 configurations and administration. And for that I want set up as follows: Installation of Windows Server 2012 as virtual machine in Hyper-V, on a machine running Windows 8, and want to make Win 8 as client and Win 2012 (VM) as server (Domain controller). As well I want to connect a PC in LAN and want to include it in domain that is created on VM. So is this type of setup possible? If yes then how can I do it? Please I need proper guidance. Thank you in advance

Software/Hardware used:
Windows Server 2012, hyper-v

Yes, you can.

The most important part is the networking configuration of the VM.  I don’t remember how that is called in Hyper-V, but you need what in vmware is called “bridged” networking.  When networking is in bridged mode you can assign a different IP address to the virtual machine, and it can be accessed from the network as if it were another physical device.

After the networking is all set, you can follow this guide to set up your domain controller:

Thank you Carlos. I will try to find this concept in Hyper-V and then I'll follow what you have suggested... Thanks a lot :)
