virtual center


VMware ESX, VirtualCenter, Virtual Machines

if you run virtual center server on a virtual machine that is within a cluster and the esx host fails. Will HA migrate the virtual center server to a new esx host??

I had one of our experts look into this, and he said:

> No. HA will restart the VC VM on a new ESX host, but HA does not
> migrate anything. It restarts VMs from a powered off state on a new
> ESX host.

Yes it will, VC is not required for HA to work so the VC VM will be migrated to another ESX server just like any other VM.
