What is the risk of having phones or mobile phones in your organization? What would make video or webconferencing any different?

1. It depends on the infrastructure setup of an organization, that how much secured or how risky is the affair. If it is controlled and restricted to certain users, IP, behind the firewall, authenticating the other side connection, authenticating the users, with secured passwords, encrypted, authenticating the dialed and dialed in numbers – the process is quite controlled.
2. If a port is dedicated to this activity with all above security measures, forming a part of the security policy by taking care of all above points.

video conferencing w/ a public domain may be subject to eavesdropping. depending on the classification of data, the implication here could be legal or financial. would like to know if there is any existing practice to safeguard this type of collaboration.

encrypted video conferencing. with encryption and decryption at both or all ends. quite possible and is happening. fully secured.
