Or if you are looking for another program that should carry the same function, you can always use a Skype or a messenger of sorts.

I would suggest Netmeeting first however.

    You can do this with messenger, I do not recomend Skype though, it can turn out to be a resource hog and leave you as a node on the Skype network which will in turn cause your processor to work harder than need be and potential bandwidth loss.

    Yes, Skype uses peer-to-peer services and each peer provides some server/relay functionality. Also the original requirement the question specified was that the traffic was not to go over the internet.
