SQL statement
Hi Guys, I want to know why it need very long long time to run a select SQL statement on Mimix jornualed files. It ran over 3 days for a select statements on a MimixJrn files (over 1 Millians records). But only use less than 1 hour to complete the same SQL selection statement for Non-MimixJrn files (copied from the Mimixed files and then run the same Select SQL)? what solution will be  shorten the time? Thanks. I got the reason why the time is too long to run in Mimix, it is becuase the select files in SQL statement have many LFs linked with. All the PF & LF should be selected under the PFs in MimixJrn. Solution: Copy the PFs into QTEMP or any researched library, then run the SQL. Copy back the changed in SQL after ran. Thanks.

Without seeing an example of such a SELECT statement, there is no way to guess. It'd probably also be useful to see a generated CREATE TABLE or CREATE VIEW statement for any files you're querying. If we see those, we'll have a chance of asking some questions that should get closer to an answer. Tom
