As I understand, you have successfully wrote the code to read the text file. Is that right ?

Are you storing the text lines in memory variables, or maybe an array ?

How are the employee names and departments separated in the text file ?

Please provide more details.

And no its not a homework assignment. Thats funny – I haven’t done homework in years. I’m in my 40s. I’m learning it in work – am being trained in with text files first and trying to learn it myself as well. I did it years ago but have forgotten most of it.
