I'm working with the open source reverse proxy Varnish. I've been able to get it working using port 80, but when I try to start it using port 8080 for a web service, it doesn't work. Does anybody know what changes need to be made so it can function as a reverse proxy for a web service not on port 80?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You will find a working configuration here:

Varnish is also compared against Apache Traffic Server, G-wan, Nginx and Lighttpd.
