Validation Error - Oracle database on Windows Server 2003


Administrative privileges, Windows Server 2003, Oracle

I am trying to log into an oracle database residing on a windows 2003 server through enterprise manager. I keep getting the error Validation error - �. I have added my username to the "log on as bacth job" properties. but I still keep getting this error.

You need to connect to the database using an internal database user id. If you don't have a Management Server setup, try launching OEM, Standalone, and try connecting as SYSTEM or SYS or another internal userid.

In oracle Enterprise manager, its asking for the host machine login credentials. It accepts the credentials I use for primary machine with no errors but when I try to log into the secondary machine I get the Validation error.
